JG Montgomery is a fifty something year old Australian/ English writer. He is a former Rural Fire Service and Emergency Services training officer. He was born in Cornwall in the United Kingdom, the son of an Australian Air Force officer.
He is a bass player, guitarist, vocalist and song writer in a 70s style rock band and has released four full length albums with a previous band plus two solo albums in 2018 and 2025. He is also a part time actor and a member of the London Ghost Club (founded 1862)
He previously served in both the Australian Army Reserve and Australian Air Force. He has university degrees in cultural heritage and teaching, a diploma in Parapsychology and was once a cricket coach. He is also a decorated State Emergency Service volunteer having being awarded a distinguished service medal in the 2021 Queen’s birthday honours.
He is currently working on a number of new books including a history of Canberra and a coming of age novel based in Victoria country in the mid-late 1970s.
